A to Z for Owners and Racing Professionals

Badges & Entrance
The PASS system will be situated on the ground floor of the Leverhulme Stand. Owners will be provided with 4 complimentary badges per horse in single ownership declared at the 48 hour stage and 6 complimentary badges for those owned by a partnership/syndicate. Should you require extra badges, please apply in advance due to limited availability, by contacting Jeannie Chantler on 07968 963664 (E-mail:jchantler@chester-races.com Fax: 01244 304648) prior to the day itself.
 
Car Parking

At the 5-day entry stage, all owners are sent a car park label along with an introductory letter – Please bring the car park label with you to gain access. The Owners and Trainers Car Park is located on the former Stables site at Linenhall Place (CH1 2LP), situated opposite the Crown Plaza Hotel off St Martins Way. Access to this car park is off St Martins Way (only when approached in a Northerly direction from the Grosvenor roundabout), via the dedicated ramp. It is a slightly further walk than the previous facility, but will allow for swifter egress after the race meeting. We are also able to provide free transfers from local airports and train stations - this should be done by phoning Jeannie Chantler on 07968 963664 in advance.

 
Children
Children accompanied by an adult, below of the age of 16 are admitted free of charge to all stands and enclosures for all fixtures. In accordance with the British Horseracing Authority Rules, no child under the age of 16, is allowed in the Parade Ring at any time. Please do not be offended if your child is asked to leave the Parade Ring for this reason.
 
Dress Code
Racegoers in the Leverhulme and County Stand and in all hospitality and restaurant facilities, are required to observe a strict dress code. Gentlemen are required to wear a suit jacket, collar and tie. Ladies are required to wear smart dress. The Racecourse reserves the right to prohibit racegoers who are incorrectly dressed from entering the County Stand.
 
DVD Copies of Races
DVDs are presented by Chester Racecourse to the winner of each race and each race will be shown live on Racing UK.  Should you require a copy of your race please contact Racetech’s video department on 0208 944 6876.

Helicopters
Helicopter / light aircraft landing facilities are available ONLY by prior arrangement with Chester Race Company Ltd (Contact: John Knott on 01244 304610) and with the local Air Traffic Control (Contact: 01244 522 012/3). Helicopters are not allowed to land on the course on non-racedays and on the following racedays: Saturday 30th June, Saturday 14th July and Sunday 5th August.

Overnight Stabling and Stable Staff Accommodation
When arriving during racing, the city centre can be congested approaching the racecourse.  Please ring Jeannie Chantler - 07968 963664 for travel advice and the best route to the stables. Prior knowledge of any need for overnight accommodation and stabling for stable staff and runners is essential and it is much appreciated if the racecourse can be faxed all details following declarations the day before on 01244 304648.

Owners´ & Trainers´ Pavilion, Luncheon, Dinner and Viewing

Each Owner on the day is offered 4 complimentary meal vouchers, regardless of whether they have one or more runners, on any particular raceday. This applies to single ownerships, syndicates or partnerships. Owners must reserve their places following declarations by phoning Jeannie Chantler on 07968 963664, returning the enclosed form by fax to 01244 304 648 or e-mailing the details to jchantler@chester-races.com. Places can only be guaranteed up until 5pm the day before racing.

Extra places can only be allocated on the day, subject to availability, and will cost £35 each. The main priority is to give all owners the chance to take up the offer, although meal vouchers are not transferable between horses and can only be allocated by the owner themselves.  Owners must also declare the names of each person so that they can appear on the Restaurant Manager’s seating plan. Owners are reminded that the official County Stand dress code of Suit Jacket, Collar and Tie does apply in the Owners & Trainers Pavilion. 

You will also notice Restaurant 1539, located in the stands. Named after the year in which horseracing first officially took place in Chester, Restaurant 1539 is open all year round and offers the finest contemporary British cooking in stylish, modern surroundings with breathtaking, panoramic views over the Roodee – www.restaurant1539.co.uk 
Complimentary tea and coffee will also be available throughout the day in the O&T Pavilion.
A section of seating for the sole use of Owners & Trainers is situated in seat blocks A & B of the County Stand. In addition, the Press Room roof is also available as a viewing platform

Racecourse Owners Association
We wish to provide the best possible facilities for our Owners. A full list of the services we provide is included on the ROA "Perfect Day" website. Members of the ROA, who are part of the ROA Owners´ Badge Scheme, are allowed free entry into the course on the following racedaysfor 2011: Friday 29th June (Eve), Sunday 5th August, Friday 14th September and Saturday 29th September.
 
Stable Staff
Chester Racecourse recognises the huge part that the stable staff play in putting the "racing show" on the road. In 2011, we will again be providing a free meal and soft drink for all stable staff working on racedays. Details of our Stable Staff charter are outlined below:
 
• Overnight accommodation in the Express by Holiday Inn at Chester Racecourse with complimentary breakfast
• Use of the hotel lounge during the day, with Sky TV and sofas, and free tea & coffee
• The Old Port Bistro - located at the stable yard - again with free tea & coffee at all times
• Each member of staff is entitled to a free MEAL and SOFT DRINK from the Bistro (vouchers with Stable Manager)
• Toilets and Shower facilities at the stable yard
• Secure lockers for kit during the day - please see Stable Manager
